The Northern Jazz Festival 2010
This will be held in Dargaville on the first weekend in October, 1st to 3rd. We will again have a Dine & Dance (tickets limited to 70 people) to the music of the Basin City Big Band on the Friday evening and a Champagne Breakfast to the accompaniment of the Tony Parker Breakfast Club on the Sunday morning. On the Sunday morning also there will be a Jazz Church Service at the Presbyterian Church, starting at 9am, where Jazz Inspired will play.
We have some new bands attending this year: The Bay Windjammers, from the Bay of Islands, the Buddhapest Swing Quartet, led by violinist/vocalist Bob Jones from Okaihau and the Woody Woodhouse Connection from Tauranga.
The other groups appearing are the Mike Nisbet Trio, Lounge Sweet, Northern Divas, Jazz Inspired, Railway Pie, The Joe Carbery Swingtet, The New Orleans Joymakers, The Carol Power Quartet, Shingle Bob and the Maura Flower Trio.
We are having a Street March, with jazz played by musicians participating in the Festival and incorporating a parasol parade with prizes for the best parasols, on the Saturday morning along the main street of the town, begining at 10am. There will be a Window Dressing Competition, with a prize for the best window.
There will be four venues this year, all within easy strolling distance of each other:
The Northern Wairoa Hotel (Headquarters), the Dargaville Club, Dargaville RSA and the Town Hall Foyer.

Ticket Prices:
Weekend Ticket $25 if bought before 1st October, $30 thereafter. [NB: There is an error in the down-loadable form. August 31 should read Sepetember 30.] This ticket gets admission to all the four venues for both days of the festival. It does not include the Dine and Dance or the Champagne Breakfast.
Day Ticket (for either Sat or Sun) $20.
Dine & Dance (limited to 70 people) $45.
Champagne Breakfast $25.
A Festival Package which covers admission to the Dine & Dance, the Champagne Breakfast and the four music venues for both days costs $85.
